Trump's comment came a day after, U.S. lawmakers on Thursday overwhelmingly approved a resolution condemning anti-Semitism and other forms of hatred and bigotry, following an acrimonious debate over a Muslim congresswoman's comments about Israel policy.
Rep. IIhan Omar has shown her earlier apology for using anti-Semitic tropes on twitter was insincere with her continued unapologetic use of anti-Semitic tropes and her tone-deaf statement on the passage of the House's watered-down resolution against hate speech. The measure was an attempt by Democrats to evade charges of anti-Semitism triggered by freshman congresswoman Rep. Ilhan Omar's (D-MN) repeated controversial remarks about Jews and Israel.
Host Sandra Smith played a clip of President Donald Trump's labeling the Democrats an anti-Israel and anti-Jewish party.
In response, the Democratic party argued over whether Omar should be singled out and what other types of bias should be decried in the text of the House resolution. Democrats had introduced the resolution in an effort to move past alleged anti-Semitic comments by Omar, a freshman Muslim congresswoman.
The final vote on the resolution was 407 to 23, with 23 Republicans voting no, and all Democrats, including Omar, voting yes.
"We are having this debate because of the language of one of our colleagues - language that suggests that Jews like me, who serve in the United States and Congress, and whose father won a purple heart fighting the Nazis in the Battle of the Bulge that we are not loyal Americans".
Top Democrats were among the lawmakers who immediately pushed back against Omar's tweet that accused pro-Israel lawmakers of pushing "for allegiance to a foreign country".

Senator Sherrod Brown announces he will not run for President in 2020
Brown is now one of four Democrats who have announced in the last week that they would not run for President in 2020. Brown won re-election previous year in OH , a state Trump carried in 2016 by more than eight percentage points.
Some Democrats complained that Omar's comments on Israel had ignited all this debate while years of President Trump's racially charged rhetoric had led to no similar congressional action.
"I don't think that there's any validity to what he's saying", Hill said in an interview on "Fox News Sunday". He remains in Congress, and on Thursday couldn't even bring himself to vote for the resolution condemning bigotry, instead marking himself as "present". Divided Democrats eventually drafted a resolution that condemned a wide range of bigotry and did not mention Omar by name. Last week, Pelosi was mugging on the cover of the celebratory issue of Rolling Stone with Omar and her bestie, apologist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
The view, according to one of the aides, is that had all Republicans voted for the resolution, it would have stayed exclusively a Democratic issue. But she said she also believes "there is a critical difference between criticism of policy or political leaders, and anti-Semitism".
"Today is historic on many fronts", they wrote.
Another member of the new crop of outspoken young House freshmen, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of NY, said the final product, as well as the way presidential candidates are now talking about the issue, showed "there's been some really great progress we've made".
