The Orange County Sheriff's Department confirmed on Monday that the plane crashed in Yorba Linda, about 37 miles from Los Angeles, killing the male pilot and two females and two males inside the house.
The crash occurred in Yorba Linda, the Orange County Fire Authority said on Twitter.
The wounded were taken to a hospital with burn injuries, said Pokey Sanchez, an assistant chief with the Orange County Fire Authority. Other photos show a nearby home damaged from debris with a propeller in its front yard.
The Federal Aviation Administration said the twin-engine Cessna 414A crashed in Yorba Linda shortly after taking off from the Fullerton Municipal Airport.
Yorba Linda, about 30 miles southeast of Los Angeles, was covered with smoke and debris after the crash and subsequent fire, according to pictures and video posted online. "It shook the house".
