Actor Kevin Spacey arrives at district court on Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, in Nantucket, Mass., to be arraigned on a charge of indecent assault and battery. Spacey will not have to appear at the March hearing, but he must be available by phone. Spacey has said in court papers that he plans to plead not guilty.
Kevin Spacey sits in chair while the legal teams meet during his arraignment at Nantucket District Court on Monday. According to the criminal complaint, an 18-year-old busboy at Club Car told Spacey that he was 23 and befriended the actor, known for his roles in the film "The Usual Suspects" and the Netflix series "House of Cards". His lawyer claimed there are texts between the alleged victim and his girlfriend at the time of the incident, and his lawyer requested the judge preserve texts and cellphone records for the case.
The actor faces five years in prison if charged for repeatedly reaching down into the trousers of a man identified as William Little, who was 18 at the time of the alleged assault in July 2016 at a Nantucket restaurant.
He was accused of allegedly groping an 18-year-old at a bar on the island in 2016. A judge disagreed with Spacey's argument and ordered him to attend the arraignment.

Spacey was let go from the award winning House of Cards in 2017, after numerous reports of sexual assault and misconduct allegations against him surfaced.
She also said how her son left the restaurant when Spacey went to the bathroom. The alleged victim is a busboy. Spacey then unzipped the accuser's trousers and rubbed his penis, both in and out of his trousers, for about three minutes, he told police.
"By reporting the sexual assault, my client is a determined and encouraging voice for those victims not yet ready to report being sexually assaulted", said lawyer Mitchell Garabedian, who has represented hundreds of clergy sexual abuse victims.
She added that her son initially had wanted to keep quiet about the alleged assault - but that the #MeToo movement led him to speak out. The man said Spacey bought him several drinks and tried to convince him to come home with him before unzipping the man's trousers and groping him for about three minutes. "Spacey stuck his hand inside my son's trousers and grabbed his genitals", Unruh said.
