The Steelers could soon be ready to do the same with their star receiver. 49ers tight end George Kittle gave Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown a shout-out on Twitter. Instead, he was benched following a reported practice altercation with Ben Roethlisberger, and then went AWOL.
For the Bengals, no longer having to deal with Le'Veon Bell or Antonio Brown would be quite nice.
The head coach told reporters that Brown had discomfort in his knee on Friday and was sent for an MRI, according to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Tomlin did not hear from Brown on Saturday to get an update.
Tomlin said he plans to consult players for perspective on how to handle the ongoing drama with Brown.
If the Steelers were to trade Brown, they would obviously ask for a lot of assets in return.
"So we needed to make decisions pertinent to getting to play in that performance". I'm certainly not seeking comfort in those things.
The Steelers won the game, 16-13, but missed their chance on the playoffs after the Ravens beat the Browns 26-24 to claim the AFC North title.
The 30-year-old Brown tweeted during the press conference and wrote, "Happy New Year".

Whether the Steelers are at that point is unclear.
