In a hypocritical embrace of government regulation, presidential economic adviser Larry Kudlow said Tuesday that the White House was considering regulating Google's search engine, when President Donald Trump-after evidently "rage-googling" himself-expressed displeasure when he found only negative news in an early morning search.
"They have it RIGGED, for me & others", he said, blaming Google, part of Alphabet Inc., for what he said was unsafe action that promoted mainstream media outlets such as CNN and suppressed conservative political voices. In a pair of tweets, the president claimed Google has "shut out" conservative news from its search results, an act he suggested may be "illegal" and one he vowed to address. "They are controlling what we can & cannot see", he wrote.

The president has attacked U.S. social media giants in the past days for allegedly censoring conservative voices, a claim widely believed by his followers but which hasn't been supported by studies. Google search ranks news by freshness, relevance, traffic, quality, and credibility.
