For all his faults, Jay Cutler held his own for a while. He had a great spring, he's had a great camp. That's pretty unusual considering John Elway is the one in charge of grooming the next, well, John Elway.
Lynch was beaten out by Siemian, a seventh-round draft pick, in each of the last two summers and now has fallen behind another seventh-rounder in Kelly, who was the final pick of the 2017 National Football League draft. He also tried to go with Trevor Siemian and considered Mark Sanchez.
That said, I do not fault him for the pick of Paxton Lynch. Lynch's first two seasons with the Broncos have been rough and he's since been replaced by Case Keenum as the starter heading into the 2018 season.
Kelly, who has spent the offseason program and early part of training camp as the No. 3 behind Keenum and Lynch, finished 14-of-21 for 177 yards and two touchdowns in the otherwise nondescript 42-38 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
Kelly was a highly touted prospect coming out of high school and college, and if not for injuries and off-field issues he probably would have been selected much higher than the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

I don't like to look too far ahead - we just need to do the talking on the pitch and make sure we perform well. The Guinean looked the part in pre-season and will be keen on making an instant impact in the Premier League.

So was Tiger Woods , which apparently created a different environment at Bellerive Country Club. Just look at this video of Woods arriving at Bellerive for the final round.
After an abysmal preseason outing over the weekend, the 2016 first-round pick got demoted from the second team to the third team as Chad Kelly - the 253rd and final pick of the 2017 NFL Draft - earned a promotion to the second team.
Andrew Wade had a great post looking at veteran quarterbacks the Broncos could consider, and I tend to agree with his assessment that Matt Moore is the most likely player the team will bring in. However, one Broncos fan was looking to help lighten the load.
Instead of spending money to go to games this year, Broncos fans can donate that money to getting Lynch out of Denver! He's off to a modest start with just $80 raised as of Monday.
If the Broncos had to choose between keeping Lynch over a guy like, say, Isaiah McKenzie right now, the choice would be clear.
The odds don't look all that great for Case Keenum to magically transform things in Denver back to the glory days, so one has to wonder whether or not the Broncos need some better quarterback analysis up top. "And then they're a downhill power running team".
