U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday released a letter from Kim Jong Un on Twitter, in which the North Korean leader voices confidence in efforts to end their nuclear standoff while urging Trump to take "practical steps" to build trust.
In his letter, which was written 24 days after the June 12 summit in Singapore, Kim addressed Mr Trump as "Your Excellency Mr President".
"He's realized he can humiliate and ignore the U.S.as long as he flatters the president", Mount said.
On Monday Trump reiterated his confidence in Kim.
The US military has since announced that 100 wooden coffins have been moved to the inter-Korean border in preparation.
Pompeo called the talks "productive", although North Korea said it was disappointed with the emphasis on denuclearization with a lack of security guarantees.
