North Korean leader Kim Jong-un arrives in Singapore on June 10.
For the first time on Sunday, North Korean state TV announced details of Kim's schedule in Singapore, describing the summit as "historic" and saying Kim would be exchanging "wide-ranging and profound views" with President Trump.
The wider session will include National Security Advisor John Bolton, who almost derailed the summit with hawkish comments about disarming North Korea.
"The ultimate objective we seek from diplomacy with North Korea has not changed: The complete and verifiable and irreversible denuclearization of the Korean peninsula is the only outcome that the United States will accept", Pompeo insisted. A working lunch is also scheduled for 11.30am with Kim due to leave Singapore at 2pm.
According to the AP, administration officials are hoping the talks lead to the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula.
He declined to specify whether that meant the withdrawal of US forces from South Korea is on the table.
