Keep in mind this was a Sixers team coming off a 10-win season a year ago, and to see them advance as far as they did in the playoffs was truly fantastic, as Brett Brown knows the future is bright for his team.
"We haven't made shots and I think if we can click on a night when we are guarding like we have been guarding and then make some shots, that's when we have a chance to be at our best", Brown said.
Sixers' big man Joel Embiid missed a close-range shot that would have tied the game in the closing seconds of Game 5, and while the missed shot may haunt him this offseason, he is still staying positive, even tipping his cap to Boston. "We've got to learn from it".
In the playoffs for the first time since 2012, the Sixers won 20 out of 21 games, before they ran into the Boston buzzsaw losing three straight in the semifinals.

The Italian, who won the league last season in his first campaign in charge at Stamford Bridge, is under contract until June 2019. Conte made six changes, but insisted his side should still have prevailed. "It's stupid if we think rotation was a problem".

"We've got to have the same mindset going into it", Simmons said after a 103-92 Game 4 win.
Simmons certainly felt like there was a lot more basketball left to be played, as he said: "The feeling right now is I didn't want to be done". Saric also came down with some highly contested rebounds, dished out four assists, and played reasonably strong defense against Al Horford for much of the night. They will be picking 26th, 38th, 39th, 56th and 60th - and will likely have a lottery pick, as well.
So the Sixers should have plenty of opportunities to improve in the next few offseasons.
Despite some back-breaking miscues in crunch time of Game 3, Simmons looked more like himself with 16 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and two blocks.
"I'm just learning, this is just the start for me, I have a long way to go", Simmons said.
