Giuliani is joining President Trump's legal team handling the special-counsel probe, reportedly to "negotiate an end" to the probe, as are two other attorneys who specialize in challenging search warrants.
The announcement was made by Trump's personal lawyer Jay Sekulow. According to several media reports, Jane Serene Raskin and Marty Raskin, a couple who run a Florida-based law firm, would also be joining the Trump team.
In an interview Thursday, Mayor Giuliani declined to say whether President Trump had decided on whether to sit for an interview with Mr. Mueller's investigators.
Former federal prosecutor Peter Zeidenberg said Giuliani could benefit Trump more on the public relations front, rather than on the nuances of the legal fight.
"I'm not involved in anything about those issues".
The team believes Giuliani's role will be limited and brief if things go the way they plan for them to go.
