Reacting to their acquittals, the BJP claimed the Congress' conspiracy of "Hindu terror" stands exposed. Overall, this resign is looking quite interesting because today the special anti-terrorism court acquitted five men accused of being involved in the Mecca Masjid blast in Hyderabad. He is an accused in the 2007 Samjhauta blasts case.
On May 18, 2007, a powerful blast killed nine people and injured 58 during Friday prayers at Mecca Masjid near Hyderabad's Charminar. Five more were killed in subsequent police firing on the crowd outside the mosque.
There were a total of eight accused in the case. Two of the former RSS workers, Sandeep Dange and Ramachandra Kalsangra, are still "absconding".
The NIA took over the case from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in 2011. In all these years after the blast, more than 200 witnesses were examined by the court, and over 400 document was exhibited.
Soon after the blast in May 2007, the Andhra Pradesh police suspected the involvement of Bangladesh-based terror outfit Harkat Ul Jihad Al Islami's (HuJI) involvement and charged 21 youths. The CBI later revealed that the blast was the handiwork of right-wing Hindu group.

Younkers, which began as a family-run dry goods business in Keokuk, has been an Iowa retailer since 1856. The second lien noteholders' joint bid is for all of the debtors' assets, including real estate.
The biggest setback for the National Investigation Agency in the Mecca Masjid blast probe were the witnesses. "The defence argued that the so-called confessional statement was forced from Swami Aseemanand in order to create a theory of "Bhagwa Atankwad" (saffron terror)", he said.
It was RK Singh who had disclosed the role of RSS-linked groups in the bomb blasts. In his deposition to court, the magistrate said Aseemanand was in police (CBI) custody when he was brought before him and after recording his statement he was taken into the police custody. He was granted bail by the Punjab and Haryana High court in August 2014, months after the NDA government came to power. Sharad Kumar, who succeeded Sinha as NIA chief, wasn't available for comments. Defence lawyer and BJP's member of Telangana legislative council N. Ramchandra Rao hailed the judgement. Their guilt, said the judge, had not been established by any evidence.
"It (acquittal) is happening in each case since the government was formed four years ago...people are losing faith in the agencies and NIA functions under the BJP government", senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said.
What is interesting about these cases is that within hours of the attacks some links to LeT/HuJI/SIMI/IM were shown and in days following each of the attacks innocent Muslims were incarcerated on trump-up terror charges.
