IndiGo today said that they have got two of their aircraft back in service and is talking to engine manufacturer to get all their aircraft back in service, as they except the number of daily flight cancellations to reduce in the coming weeks.
On, the court had refused to grant Shenoy's main prayer to ground all the A320 Neo aircraft, which are operated by low cost carriers Indigo and GoAir.
There have been at least two cases, as DGCA documents indicate, where both engines of aircraft required replacement.
An A320 neo aircraft that operated Mumbai-Jammu, during maintenance checks was detected with leakage from one engine. However, during engine start, the Pilot-in-Command observed a hydraulic (not oil) leakage from #2 engine.
"The aircraft was to operate flight 6e 559 to Srinagar from Jammu but was grounded due to fuel leak from engine 1 after which the plane was grounded", New Delhi based Economic Times reported.
According to IndiGo's website, more than 900 flights were cancelled between March 16 and 31. Aviation regulator DGCA said it is keeping a close watch on the recent incidents."These appear as one-off incidents and not linked with the engine issues due to which some planes have been grounded". The airline also faced problem with a Delhi- Srinagar flight on Sunday that witnessed hydraulic leak from one engine after it landed at Srinagar.
