After Stradale, Scuderia and Speciale, meet the Pista, shown here for the first time ahead of an official unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show on March 6.
Power comes from an evolved version of the F154 CB engine used in the 488 GTB, with the 3.9 litre twin turbo V8 now producing 720 PS (710 hp) at 8,000 rpm and 770 Nm of torque. To match its rival from Britain, the Pista has been subjected to Ferrari's biggest jump yet between standard coupe and special model.
Well, well, well, if it isn't the Ferrari 488 Pista - all 720 horsepower of it, and each one going through the rear wheels.
To help it stick to the track, Ferrari's engineers made some aerodynamic changes to increase the downforce by 20 percent. The new Pista (Italian for "track") has shaved off considerable amount of fat - 90 kilograms (198 pounds), its dry weight tipping the scales at a mere 1,280 kg (2,822 lbs), when all optional lightweight elements have been installed. With more power and less weight, Ferrari says the Pista will hit 62 miles per hour in 2.85 seconds and 124 miles per hour in 7.6.
According to its maker, the name "Pista" is "a direct homage to Ferrari's unparalleled heritage in motor sports", and translates to "track" from Italian.
United Nations 'deeply alarmed' by situation in Eastern Ghouta
The ICRC and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent accessed Eastern Ghouta in December to facilitate the evacuation of 29 wounded patients. Even though these attacks have claimed lives of adults and children alike, the regime maintains these are "precision strikes".
Apple considering buying cobalt directly amid booming demand

US hockey tops Slovakia
College kids again led the way for the USA , which scored more against Slovakia then it did in all three preliminary-round games. Ryan's dad and Harvard head coach, Ted Donato , was in attendance to see his son score, and he was sacked up by his son's goal .
The transmission will be the previously known seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, but we expect the tech boffins at Ferrari to give the Pista its own unique settings alongside Slide Slip Control management which will allow for greater yaw angles before fully intervening. Torque now sits at 568 lb-ft, 7 lb-ft more than the standard 488.
The 488 Pista also makes more power than the 458 Speciale-a lot more power.
Thanks to that power boost, and the weight reduction, the 488 Pista can go from 0-62mph in 2.8 seconds, with a top speed of 211mph, reports Motor1. It features a new Inconel exhaust, and has a design clearly influenced by the 488 GTE race auto, with the same "S-Duct" and sharp-angled front diffuser creating a ramp for airflow for extra downforce.
The revised bodywork and the addition of a larger rear spoiler helps the 488 Pista generate 20% more downforce than the base vehicle, reports Auto Express. Put simply, this new component uses software to adjust the braking pressure at each caliper individually at the limit in order to make the vehicle more predictable under corner braking.
