The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for Framingham, and MetroWest, from 7 p.m. today through 7 a.m. Sunday, at 1:26 p.m. today.
The heaviest snow is expected away from the coast - west of Washington, D.C.; west of Philadelphia; north of New York City; and west of Boston, where 7 inches could accumulate locally.
A brief dry start to Saturday is expected to change when snow develops in the afternoon.
