As well as single-tap responses Google is planning to enable automatic replies, for example letting people know when you are busy and can't get to your phone. For instance, users will be given the reply options "Yes", "No", or "I am here" when they receive questions such as "Are you at the restaurant?" or "When can you be home?" Smart Reply functionality could save on-the-go workers time while improving collaboration. Also like we said, Google wants to potentially bring the feature to other chat apps, such as WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Skype, Twitter DMs, Slack, and so on.
Google is working on a new project "Instant Replies" suggestions for all of your favorite regular Android messaging apps similar to what you see in Google's Alo and Gmail. The app analyzes the text of conversation then generate a contextual response with three suggested replies for the user selection.
There would also be a vacation responder that would automatically reply while you are in an area without cell service for an extended period. "Alert messages" feature in which if your phone is silent and you have a prior meeting or work, your phone will give you update on that event.
"You probably get a lot of chat messages", said Area 120 in an email to testers.
The project, like all Area 120 projects, is unrelated to any broader developments at Google - in this case, that means it's not directly tied to Google's messaging efforts.
