The freakish story is reported in The North Coast Journal, and on a show that is full of insane people fighting for love with someone who they met months earlier, this is near the top of the insane list.
"I just got off the phone with Rebekah", said Karges.
The Journal noted that Martinez was active on Instagram the entire time she was reportedly missing.
Responding to the missing persons mistake Friday, Martinez threw some humor into the issue.
Bekah Martinez is NOT missing - despite her mother thinking otherwise.
INSIDER reached out to both the Humboldt County sheriff's office and Bekah but did not immediately receive a response.
A month later, on December 12, a deputy reached out to Martinez's mother, asking if she had heard from her daughter.

Martinez, a nanny, is actually one of 10 female contestants who remain on "The Bachelor".
"The Bachelor" contestant Bekah Martinez was listed as a missing person by her own mother last fall, while she was busy trying to find love on reality TV.
The publication posted a story this week called The Humboldt 35-asking readers if any of them knew the whereabouts of residents shown via photograph in the story. Her next post was dated November 22.
In the end, it seems as though this may have simply been a miscommunication between Bekah and her mother as to how restrictive, exactly, the no-phone policy is on "The Bachelor". At 22, she was the show's youngest contestant, and her 14-year difference with the bachelor, Mr. Luyendyk, has been a prominent point of discussion among fans and fellow contestants.
As explained in a North Coast Journal follow-up article, the 22-year-old Martinez posted September 17 on social media that she'd be "giving up" her phone and social media for several weeks. "MOM. How many times do I have to tell you I don't get cell service on The Bachelor??" she tweeted, sharing the Journal's article about her story.
She also took the time to mock her driver's license photo.
