Just like Facebook messenger, Instagram will now show when you were last online in the direct messages tab of the app. The active status appears on Instagram's direct messages section just below the name of the followers you've been chatting with. I am here instead to alert you that Instagram have decided to make your habit, public knowledge.
However, if you disable activity status for yourself, you won't be able to see that info for anyone else. which is fine with us, tbh.
If you disable the feature, you won't be able to see the activity status of others either. Instagram, however, did not have such feature up until now.

At least five Apple buses and one Google bus were targeted on Friday and Tuesday, according to reports . The commuter buses had windows shattered by an unknown object, possibly a rock or a pellet gun.
First off, access your profile page, tap the settings gear, and head to the "Edit Profile" option, where you will find a toggle next to the option "Show Activity Status".
It is similar to the popular time-stamping tool on Facebook and WhatsApp, and is switched on by default in the Instagram settings. Currently, the app notifies only if the image or video is sent to Instagram direct but the new feature will expand to the public stories as well.
Twitter user @emilysarpietro slammed the new feature, saying "nothing's private any more" and promising she would be "definitely coming off social media soon".
When checking the profile of someone you don't follow, but who follows you, Instagram now shows a "Follow Back" option instead of the simple "Follow". According to TheNextWeb, the new feature would allow users to select from different backgrounds, fonts, and even apply filters.
