The news that Game of Thrones would not air this year comes as little surprise, as the final season is expected to stretch more than eight months.
It is said that the series will not air in 2018 as David Benioff and Dan Weiss are working on the final episodes. Writers for the season include Weiss and Benioff, along with Bryan Cogman and Dave Hill.
Crews were still filming the show's final season as of late December, Deadline reported.
Looks like we're going to have to wait for at least one more normal winter to pass before Game of Thrones' super-winter arrives.
The network has officially confirmed it will not be able to release Season 8 until 2019.
