The Wreaths Across America chapter in Fremont is holding their wreath-laying ceremony on Saturday at 11 a.m. And it so happens that Swoboda's event will take place at St. Mary Anne's Church.
More than 1,200 locations across the country are participating in Wreaths Across America this month.
But on Thursday, the nonprofit Wreaths Across America announced it had met its goal - with some timely aid from the public. "I happen to think of him as a guest speaker since he is a graduate of the Military Academy at West Point", said Kuddes.
"I believe the schools have to continue these programs", Army Veteran James Turner said.
"And we thought, 'How will we do that?'" Smith said. "If people can come before 10 a.m. and stay for the entire ceremony, we have many volunteer opportunities".
