Social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram have specific data collection systems which collect the information and requirement of the users to work for the betterment of the application.
Announced on Wednesday, Instagram said in a statement that it had officially rolled out the new feature, saying that following a hashtag would be the same as following a friend.
You will also be able to see all the hashtags your friends follow just like how you can see which accounts they follow. Just search for a topic you're interested in and it will display the search results listing relevant hashtags. The company has now made it easier for users to see posts from around the world which are using the same hashtag. Hashtags can be identified as hobbies, passions or communities, anything having a connection to the post. Following the hashtags will display top posts in your Instagram feed along with some of the latest stories in the "stories bar".

If the hashtag you're following can get a bit overwhelming, you can always unfollow it just like you would unfollow an account. Everyday, millions of people share photos and videos and tag them with relevant hashtags. But in an update beginning rollout today, Instagram is trying to change that by letting people follow hashtags for the first time.
If you have a public profile, anyone will be able to see which hashtags you follow. Users can look for some interesting hashtag by following the ones which are listed on the profiles of other users.
