United States investigators are probing whether former White House national security adviser Michael Flynn discussed expelling a Turkish dissident back to his country in exchange for millions of dollars, USA media reported.
The Journal reported that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) questioned at least four people in regard to a mid-December meeting in NY at the "21" Club.
"Under the alleged proposal, Mr Flynn and his son Michael Flynn Jr were to be paid as much as US$15 million for delivering Fethullah Gulen to the Turkish government, according to people with knowledge of discussions Mr Flynn had with Turkish representatives", WSJ said, adding that it is not clear how far the proposal went and that there was no sign that any payments were made. Flynn's business partners and son, Michael G. Flynn, also attended, according to the NBC report.

According to the paper, Federal Bureau of Investigation agents have asked people about a meeting Flynn had with Turkish government officials at New York's "21" Club in December regarding removing Gulen from the US.
Flynn also allegedly discussed helping to free Reza Zarrab, a Turkish-Iranian gold trader who now faces federal charges for his assistance to Iran in skirting United States sanctions.

While Flynn has had a relationship with Turkey, his counsel denies the Wall Street Journal's report, according to CNN.
It's still rather early in the morning, but I feel comfortable saying that the latest reporting on Michael Flynn, Donald Trump's former White House National Security Advisor, is going to be the craziest story of the day.
Multiple sources have told NBC News that Mueller has gathered enough evidence to lead to an indictment in the investigation into Flynn and his son.
Most of what has been reported about Mueller's questioning of Flynn's lobbying work has concerned his efforts on behalf of Turkey.
"Out of respect for the process of the various investigations regarding the 2016 campaign, we have intentionally avoided responding to every rumour or allegation raised in the media", Flynn's lawyer Robert Kelner told the press. "But today's news cycle has brought allegations about General Flynn, ranging from kidnapping to bribery, that are so outrageous and prejudicial that we are making an exception to our usual rule: they are false". Flynn has expressed interest in an immunity deal and Mueller, in his dealings with former foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos, has shown himself ready to negotiate.
