To compile the Index, Arton Capital compared the passports of 193 United Nations member countries and six territories (Taiwan, Macau, Hong Kong, Kosovo, Palestinian Territory and the Vatican).
At the 75th position, an Indian passport allows its visa-free entry in only 24 countries, while 27 other countries grant visa on arrival.
It ranked all of the passports of the world by their "total visa-free score", where a point is given for each country that their holders can visit without a visa, with a visa on arrival, or using electronic travel authorisation.
Arton uses the U.N.'s Development Programme Human Development Index, which rates countries on their perception overseas, to break ties, Forbes reports. "It is a testament of Singapore's inclusive diplomatic relations and effective foreign policy", said Philippe May, managing director of Arton Capital's Singapore office.

Passport Index, which keeps track of how useable such documents are, said the city-state grabbed the top spot after Paraguay removed restrictions for Singaporeans. Territories annexed to other countries are excluded. Coming in at last place on the updated Passport Index list is Afghanistan, which has a score of 22, followed by Pakistan and Iraq (26), Syria (29) and Somalia (34).

Travelers can view the full list of powerful passports here. A whopping 61 in fact, according to Arton Capital's 2017 Passport Index.
The methodology used to determine the rankings varies. This comparatively low number has contributed to the low ranking for the Indian passport. China is ranked 67 with a visa-free score of 60.
Singapore had a score of 159, one more than second-place Germany and two more than Sweden and South Korea. Spain and Italy tied for third, with Ireland rounding out the top five.
