Authorities are working to identify two bodies discovered in Joshua Tree almost three months after a young couple went missing in the California national park.
KESQ-TV reports that the remains of two bodies were discovered Sunday on the north side of the Maze Loop Trail.
The discovery might provide some answers in the case of missing persons Rachel Nguyen and Joseph Orbeso - whose father, Gilbert Orbeso, was among those who located the bodies, Miller said.
"I'm just glad that he can finally come home to us", Young said. The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department was expected to recover the bodies on Monday. We can not thank enough the folks from San Bernardino Sheriffs, Joshua Tree Search and Rescue, volunteers, and all agencies involved in the search efforts.

Wildfires kill 39 in Portugal and Spain
Spain's prime minister focused on criminal intent, and said authorities were certain the fires were caused by arsonists. The wildfires follow an enormous forest blaze in Portugal in June, which killed 64 people and injured more than 130.
Microsoft's battle with U.S. government hits Supreme Court
The dispute stems from a 2013 federal effort to get emails that the government says would show evidence of drug trafficking. The corporate giant noted that the Justice Department has asked Congress to amend the law to address just that issue.
It took a search team comprised of hundreds of would-be rescuers and family members until Sunday night to discover the bodies.
Searchers found the vehicle Orbeso and Nguyen used and fresh footprints at the popular Maze Loop trailhead on July 28. They then followed the trail of belongings and found the bodies. "That was our main goal, to find them", he added.
According to KESQ and KABC, the couple was last heard from in late July, and search teams later located their auto near the beginning of one of the park's trails.
The grim discovery comes almost three months after rescuers began combing the park in search of a couple who were reported missing when they failed to check out of their Airbnb accommodations on July 28.
