At least six people including three police officials were killed and 10 injured after a blast ripped through New Sariyab, area of Quetta on Wednesday.
A forensic team from Lahore is expected to reach Quetta soon to determine the nature of the blast, he said.
While talking to media at site of blast, Balochistan Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti stated that police vehicle was targeted around 8:25 am today.
The injured officers were being treated and some of them were in a critical condition, said doctor Mohamed Farooq at the Quetta Civil Hospital.
At least 40 people were killed in twin blasts in Quetta and northwestern town of Parachinar in June.
"Such cowardly acts will not deter the government and people of Balochistan from doing their duties", Bugti said, adding the fight will continue till the elimination of the last terrorist.
The injured have been shifted to Jinnah Hospital.
