In the Indian telecom industry, the "disruptive" entry of Reliance Jio is a great momentum behind the new-age telecom price war.
Like the JioPhone, the Bharat 1 is 4G VoLTE enable, however BSNL does not offer 4G VoLTE services as of yet. In terms of optics, the Micromax Bharat-1 features a 2-megapixel rear-facing camera and 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. Since the Bharat 1 is targeted at the feature phone market, BSNL is going aggressive with the data plan. Users will also get the option to watch live TV on the Bharat 1. The Dual SIM 4G device comes with 512MB RAM and 4GB ROM.
This 4G feature phone will be available starting from October 20.

BSNL and Micromax have come together to take on the Reliance Jio Phone with Bharat 1 mobile. "We are confident that Bharat-1 will help millions of users experience data and calling experience like never before", Anupam Srivastava, Chairman and Managing Director, BSNL, said.
Having said that, the Micromax Bharat 1 4G VoLTE Feature Phone will compete with the likes of Reliance JioPhone and Airtel 4G Smartphone.
According to Rahul Sharma, co-founder, Micromax Informatics, the Bharat 1 phone will cost customers less than JioPhone down the line.
Both Micromax and BSNL will work collaboratively to introduce the best consumer mobile experience, the company said. The Bharat 1 comes with a 2000mAh battery.
"Connecting the last mile - to the Internet and relevant information - is an important part of the strategy for both BSNL and Micromax". The Micromax Bharat-1 also supports all languages including 22 major Indian languages. There are no glaring advantages the Bharat-1 exercises over others especially if we consider Airtel's offering.
