The choice of the end points is significant, because Kannur and Thiruvananthapuram districts have witnessed the majority of political murders that have rocked Kerala.
As many as 120 BJP workers have been killed in the state since 2001 with 14 of them in the Chief Minister's home town since he took over the reigns past year, the BJP has alleged.
He alleged that wherever the communists had been in office, like Kerala, West Bengal and Tripura, they indulged in political violence against critics and political adversaries.

After the yatra's launch, Mr Shah marched along with BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan up to Pilathara. According to the sources during the 15-day long yatra, at least one Union minister would be present on each day of the march and some BJP chief ministers might also join them.
Shah targeted Community Party saying they should introspect why they have been wiped off from the entire world and now getting wiped in the country too.
Among the Minister likely to attend the yatra are, Union ministers Ananth Kumar, Smriti Irani, Giriraj Singh, V K Singh, Dharmendra Pradhan, Javedkar and few others. Many in the BJP thus view it as a direct challenge to the CPI (M)'s most powerful leader.
Matandoor also announced that Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath will arrive in Mangaluru on October 3 night and proceed to Kannur to take party in a rally on October 4.
