A person answering the phone for Dahlia in Flushing confirmed that one of the company's buses had been involved in the crash but declined to give his name or to answer any questions.
More than a dozen people were hurt after a city bus and a private tour bus collided Monday morning Queens.
Metropolitan Transportation Authority Chairman Joe Lhota said the city's Pubic Transportation Safety Board will be investigating the collision, adding that early analysis of the scene indicates one or both of the buses may have been speeding.
The crash also ignited a small fire in the building near where bus crashed, but the blaze was quickly put out. The MTA driver, a 10-year veteran, "is in the hospital in non-critical condition, he's being spoken to", authorities said.
"These buses spun around".
Protest Against Rohingya Muslim Persecution
"We've had a really tragic morning here in Flushing, Queens", New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said at a news conference with city leaders near the crash site.
Although the investigation has just begun, the evidence indicates there was "an enormous amount of speed", Lhota said.
Drivers should expect extensive traffic delays in the area. "It's hard to compare it to anything I've ever seen, the sheer destruction".
Dahlia has been cited for unsafe driving multiple times by federal regulators.
A representative for Dahlia Travel and Tours could not immediately be reached for comment.
