Washington - a student was killed and three others were wounded at a Washington #State High School on Wednesday when a student, described as "obsessed with school shootings" opened fire at #Freeman High School near Spokane.
Fifteen days after the first day of school, students are looking for answers.
"But we need to figure out what's gone wrong with our society that our children decide that they need to take weapons to deal with the issues that they're facing", he said. "The shooter is in the back seat of a patrol vehicle right now", he said on the scene, shortly before noon. "He went to his next weapon, a student walked up to him, engaged him and that student was shot".
The sheriff's office says a deputy who works as a school resource officer arrived shortly thereafter and took the shooter into custody.
The Providence Sacred Heart hospital reported taking in three people in their "mid-teens" from the shooting.
Spokane schools were placed on lockdown with parents gathering to try and get information.
The victims' names have not been released.
A two-lane highway into the town of about 500 people near the Idaho border was clogged as anxious parents sped to the school.

"He then fired more shoots around down the hallway, striking three more students and those students are in the hospital", he said.
Another junior, William Solsom, said, "You wouldn't really expect something to happen at a school like this". This is the first school shooting in the United States since May, during the murder-suicide at North Lake College in Irving, Texas.
