A 29-year-old man whom Philadelphia police said had confessed to "elements of the crime" is facing murder charges in connection with the death of a student who had just recently transferred to Temple University.
Police discovered what's believed to be the body of Jenna Burleigh, 22, from Philadelphia at a house in Paupack Township, more than 170km north.
Philadelphia Police Capt. John Ryan, commanding officer of the homicide unit, wouldn't elaborate on what information police received from Hupperterz.
Sources said local surveillance cameras captured footage of Hupperterz, a former Temple student who last took classes in the spring, walking with Burleigh to his apartment early Thursday morning.
The home where her body was found reportedly belongs to Hupperterz's grandmother.
Police said Mr Hupperterz had "prior contact" with law enforcement but would not elaborate.

Jenna Burleigh, a junior at the university, was reported missing Friday (Sept. 1) after disappearing from a popular bar near the school's campus on Thursday (Aug. 31) around 2 a.m. She was majoring in film and media arts, Temple spokesman Ray Betzner said.
