Rosenstein appointed special counsel Robert Mueller to investigate alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 US election, and has told lawmakers he would only fire him with good cause.
"You are witnessing the single greatest WITCH HUNT in American political history", the President tweeted June 15 about the ongoing investigations into Russia's impact on the election and possible connections to his campaign or Administration, "led by some very bad and conflicted people!"
Trump's tweet comes less than a day after a unusual statement from a senior official in his administration.
The White House has directed questions for details to outside legal counsel, which has not responded.
He continued: "Americans should be skeptical about anonymous allegations. The Department of Justice has a long-established policy to neither confirm nor deny such allegations".
Kushner, who is President Donald Trump's son-in-law, joins a list of several former associates whose financial dealings are being examined by FBI agents and federal prosecutors, according to the Post.
The president's tweets came two years to the day after Trump first launched his improbable presidential bid by famously descending an escalator in Trump Tower in NY, and while his presidency is embroiled in crisis over the federal investigation led by Mueller into his campaign's ties to Russian Federation. While the investigation had originally been focused on potential collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, The Post reported, the obstruction inquiry began after Trump fired Comey. "It's an excuse by the Democrats for having lost an election that they should have won".
Rosenstein told a closed session of Congress last month that he learned Comey would be dismissed one day before penning his memo.

Nintendo Will Support 3DS "Well Into 2018 & Beyond"
One of the biggest reasons that the Wii U failed was due to the massive droughts the console experienced when it came to games. In December, Nintendo reported overall Wii U sales of 13.56 million, a drop in the bucket compared to what the Wii achieved.
Warriors say no decision has been made on White House visit
While with the Pacers from 2011-2015, he started 285 out of a possible 285 games, averaging 14 points and seven rebounds per game. Those were Kerr's feelings then, but he felt it would be presumptuous to express them publicly during the middle of a season.
"The message the president is sending through his tweets is that he believes the rule of law doesn't apply to him and that anyone who thinks otherwise will be fired", Feinstein said.
His morning missive apparently referred to Rod Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general whose role leading the federal investigation has become increasingly complicated.
Indeed, while White House officials reportedly talked Trump out of firing Mueller, it's suddenly easy to imagine the president showing the deputy AG the door, sooner rather than later. Feinstein took notice of this, and the Senate Intelligence Committee chairwoman expressed concern about what this announcement would mean for Robert Mueller, Rod Rosenstein, and the probes about obstruction of justice and Russia's actions during the 2016 election. Trump fired Comey on May 9 while Comey was overseeing the initial Russian Federation investigation. Reports have alleged that Trump asked both men to publicly quash the credibility of the Russian Federation investigation.
The president has denied that he has any nefarious ties to Russian Federation and has also disputed that he's attempted to block the investigation into his campaign's possible role in Russia's election-related hacking.
Trump's personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, also has retained an attorney to represent him.
CENTCOM later said that person was "unauthorized" to speak for the command and that the statement was "inappropriate".
"The CIA does not, has not, and will never hide intelligence from the president, period".
