Arizona was eliminated from the NCAA Tournament on Sunday, falling 9-3 to Sam Houston State in the Lubbock Regional at Rip Griffin Park.
Both losses in the regional for Arizona came at the hand of Sam Houston State, losing to the Bearkats in the opening round, 5-4.
The team finished the year with a record of 38-21. The Wildcats (37-20) will play DE in an elimination game.
The Red Raiders are now the only undefeated team in the Lubbock Regional. Gingery struck out the next batter and sophomore first baseman Riley McKnight got caught stealing to end the inning.
The Bearkats then scored a total of eight runs in the inning to go ahead 9-0. When the delay finally ended, two-plus hours later, the Wildcats couldn't push a run across in the top of the 11.
Then second-seeded Arizona had a runner thrown out at the plate in the 11th.
Sam Houston State loaded the bases with two outs in the second inning after a double from Robie Rojas and two walks.

Sano also started this around-the-horn triple play to bring the top of the 4th to a sudden stop. Kyle Gibson lasted 5.2 innings and allowed just two runs to get his second win of the season.

Rojas had two hits along with Bryce Johnson, Clayton Harp, Hunter Hearn and Taylor Beene. Rivas gave the Wildcats the lead for good when he hit a home run to the opposite field with two outs.
After the double, Arizona called to the bullpen and brought in junior Landon Faulkner. Matijevic led off the inning with a single to centerfield.
When the Wildcats took the field in the bottom of the third, junior right-hander Robby Medel took over on the mound. Ming exited after 7 2/3 innings, giving up four hits, three runs, five walks and striking out two.
Arizona senior infielder Louis Boyd at second base after a base hit. His RBI single in the sixth produced the game's first run and his two-run single in the seventh made it 5-1.
Henderson was 2 of 3 and reached base five times as he walked, singled, bunted for another hit, was hit by a pitch and reached on an error that scored the Seminoles' final run in the top of the ninth inning. It is the third time Sam Houston has advanced to a regional final, the last coming in the 2012 Rice Regional and also in Oxford, Miss., in 2007.
The Wildcats lost to the Bearkats, 9-3, ending their postseason run.
