A man is wanted for allegedly stealing a backpack and wedding ring from Ricky Best, one of the two men killed in the May 26th attack on the light rail train.
Police have yet to identify the suspected ring and backpack thief.
The 51-year-old man will be arraigned Monday on charges of theft, tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.
Army veteran Ricky Best was stabbed to death on a MAX train while he and another man, who was also fatally stabbed, while defending two teenage girls, one wearing a traditional Muslim hijab, as a man began yelling anti-Muslim slurs. A third man was also stabbed, but survived.
Sgt. Pete Simpson, Portland police official spokesperson, said that the theft of the Portland stabbing victim's personal belongings was "really an unconscionable act" and that it was an "awful scenario for [his] family".
