The vehicle comes at a price tag between Rs 5.45 lakh and Rs 9.41 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Built on Suzuki's fifth generation "Heartect" platform, the new DZire continues to be powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol engine which delivers 82 bhp and 113 Nm of torque and the 1.3-litre diesel engine that churns out 74 bhp and 190 Nm of torque.
In comparison, the Hyundai Xcent is priced between Rs 5.42 lakh - Rs 7.55 lakh for the petrol version and Rs 6.32 lakh - Rs 8.45 lakh for the diesel version. The diesel manual variants are priced between ₹6.45 lakh and ₹8.94 lakh, while the automatic models are priced in the range of ₹7.76 lakh and ₹9.41 lakh.
Eight variants on offerThe new Dzire is available with a choice of eight variants - LXi, LDi, VXi, VDi, ZXi, ZDi, ZXi+ and ZDi+. Bookings for the compact sedan are already underway at all Maruti Suzuki dealerships across the country at a token amount of Rs. 11,000. The new Dzire also comes with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist as standard on all trims, which receives a big thumbs up from us as Maruti Suzuki puts safety up front.

According to RS Kalsi, the new Maruti will be produced only at Manesar plant for now although there is sufficient capacity available at the Gurgaon plant as well. The present generation Dzire would now be sold as Dzire Tour to fleet operators. With the demand of subcompact sedan segment in growing in Indian market rapidly, Maruti Suzuki Dzire is expected to do well for the company. There are also three new colours on offer with the 2017 Dzire - Oxford Blue, Gallant Red and Sherwood Brown.
