Jennifer White says park staff did not provide support after a kangaroo bit her 9-year-old daughter early on Sunday.
The attack at Harmony Park Safari near Huntsville happened Saturday and was captured on cellphone by the child's mother. The nine-year-old received 14 stitches in her head. When the younger one reaches through the fence, the kangaroo reaches its head and arms through the fence, grabs Cheyenne by her hair, and appears to bite her head. In the video, you can see there are large spaces where the kangaroo can fit its head through.
White says she made a decision to surprise her daughters over the weekend with a trip to one of their favorite places.
"'I'm just glad it got me and not my baby sister because it would have hurt her even worse", Cheyenne told WAFF News.

"I was like, 'Yay, we're at the safari zoo!" the girl said. WAFF was told by a Harmony Park Safari employee that the owners do not want to comment. There is clearly written "I Bite" on the fence sign board and it is understood that people should be cautious while coming close to the animals. She thought the kangaroo was only "playing" when the animal walked up to the fence.
"I don't want this to happen to somebody else's kid, because they might not be as fortunate as my daughter was", she WAFF NBC. There are signs posted near the kangaroo pen warning customers to be careful.
