"When I see people silent on the raging issue (of triple talaq), the episode from Mahabharata comes to my mind".
"No one uttered even a single word".
"Some people who are silent on the issue of triple talaq are equally guilty", the UP Chief Minister said.
The party also said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party chief Amit Shah should ask Adityanath to refrain from making such remarks in the future.
Yogi Adityanth's comments came a day after Prime Minister Modi and Muslim Personal Law Board both vowed to end the menace but in two different ways.
Adityanath also said that politics should be practised under the constitutional limits and pointed out that the late Chandrashekhar was also a votary of common laws.
